Daytona Beach News-Journal seeks tourism reporter

The Daytona Beach News-Journal is looking for a reporter to work in one of the most dynamic business environments in the country.

Daytona Beach thrives on a tourism economy and is home to two major sports franchises with NASCAR and the LPGA.

Several big projects are in the works: a $400 million renovation of Daytona International Speedway and new oceanfront hotels, including a planned Hard Rock Hotel. We need a high-energy reporter with at least two or three years of experience.

Candidates from Florida and the Southeast are encouraged to apply.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
