The Dallas Business Journal, the primary source of local business news for Dallas-area executives, is seeking a senior reporter to cover technology in North Texas.
The position will focus on fast-growing middle-market companies, along with large public and private firms through a financial lens. The region is home to tech giants such as AT&T, Texas Instruments and Alliance Data Systems, along with a flourishing startup community and everything in between.
The primary mission: Be the go-to source for technology coverage in one of the most competitive media markets in the nation.
Key duties of the position:
- Break news by identifying companies and executives who are or will become difference-makers
- Cultivate trusted relationships with technology sources, along with financial sources serving the sector, to deliver exclusive content
- Contribute analytical stories for the weekly print edition, including a branded reporter hub page
- Develop and grow your audience across all platforms, including social media
Knowledge and skill requirements:
- Strong analytical and investigative skills demonstrated in previous reporting positions
- 3 or more years of professional journalism experience
- Working knowledge of financial and business news is a plus
- Comfortable working with television and radio, as our reporters are often on-air guests
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
