At the DBJ, the managing editor is charged with providing inspiration and constant guidance to the content team. Reporting directly to the editor-in-chief, the managing editor oversees and directs the deployment of reporting resources across multiple platforms, including online, email, print and social.
The managing editor, as one of the top communicators in the newsroom, is highly influential in setting standards, mood, expectations and a culture. In addition to possessing a gift for organization that always seeks efficient use of newsroom resources, the managing editor must:
