Daily Journal of Commerce in Portland seeks reporter

The Daily Journal of Commerce has an opening for a full-time B2B reporter to help us cover architecture, engineering, real estate, development and construction in Portland, Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Help us provide our professional audience with stories and information that help them be more successful.

Our ideal candidate:
• enjoys digging into data and public records to find leads that can turn into scoops, breaking news and full stories;
• enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable with daily deadlines;
• is adept at using social media as a way to interact with readers and uncover story/news leads;
• understands a “web first” publishing approach;
• knows how to build – and maintain – a news beat;
• has solid B2B writing and reporting abilities.

Does this sound like you? If so, send us five published clips (links or attached Word docs). For each clip, please provide information on how you found the story, how you handled the story from a “web first ” angle, and how you incorporated social media (such as finding sources for the story, alerting readers about the story when it published, etc.).

Using the subject line “DJC reporter position,” email your clips/clip links, the “background” information for each clip, and your resume to:apply-a2n5qet3w2hy@applicantstack.com
