Daily Business Review seeks Latin America reporter

The Daily Business Review, South Florida’s primary source for news for lawyers and business professionals, is looking to hire a reporter to join the editorial staff in Miami.

The position is to focus on the intersection of law and the Americas – everything from international arbitration cases to the opening of Cuba to investment and what it means to the legal community. The ideal candidate will be bilingual and have an understanding of international business and how it plays out in Miami – often described as the capital of Latin America.

Required skills:

• At least 2 years of journalism experience (legal and/or business journalism experience a plus)

• Interest in reporting on policies that impact the law and the legal community

• Strong reporting, writing and interviewing skills

• Ability to develop ongoing source relationships

• Excellent organizational and communication skills

• Proficiency with social media and multimedia reporting

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
