The Craig Press needs an energetic reporter to cover a variety of beats and topics, including public safety, government, community news, the environment and general assignment stories. We value integrity, teamwork and a commitment to the community, in addition to being able to handle the pressures of a newsroom.
Responsibilities will include writing well-sourced, accurate news reports, in addition to producing shorter staff reports and news briefs. We will expect you to ensure accuracy, fairness and correct spelling and grammar in all your reporting duties, along with taking photos, sharing content on social media and following the direction and vision of the publisher and editor.
Qualified applicants should have a journalism degree, a degree in a similar field or applicable experience. Applicants should also have a deep knowledge of AP style; the availability to work some nights, weekends and holidays; a current driver’s license and transportation; and most importantly, a serious desire to perform quality community journalism.
