The CBJ Editor will be responsible for supervising several reporters, a news assistant, a special sections editor, freelance writers, photographers and interns. This position involves setting and maintaining an editorial direction producing a high-quality paper of mostly original content every week, engaging news from around the region for daily and weekly newsletters, and overseeing production of the CBJ’s growing digital media portfolio. Incorporates social media and other distribution channels to build awareness of the CBJ’s brands. Acts as a liaison with community supporters and other departments at the Corridor Business Journal.
The ideal candidate must be highly organized and able to project manage numerous projects as well as the normal daily and weekly news products. The candidate must also be attentive to detail and thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment. The editor is expected to have excellent news judgment, editing skills, company leadership and community engagement.
At least five years journalism/news reporting and editing experience is required. Must be an AP style expert, with a firm grasp of business and industry concepts. Knowledge. Social media, photography and/or Adobe Creative Suite skills are preferred, but not required.
