The Corridor Business Journal, a weekly business publication in Iowa’s Creative Corridor, seeks an enterprising reporter to cover business news throughout the Corridor’s seven-county area in Eastern Iowa.

The reporter will be responsible for developing and cultivating sources within the region, and will be expected to produce both daily and enterprise stories. The reporter is expected to be digital forward, building and delivering CBJ content across platforms, and will contribute to a weekly television partnership with KCRG-TV9. Copyediting, proofing and photography skills are big pluses.

The ideal candidate must be flexible, inquisitive and a strong writer with high production. The candidate must also be attentive to detail and thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment, while also remaining open to coaching and continuous improvement. The reporter will be expected to have excellent news judgment, and regularly find scoops and watchdog sources and issues.

At least three years journalism/news reporting experience is required. Must be an AP style expert, with a firm grasp of business and industry concepts. Knowledge. Social media, photography and/or Adobe Creative Suite skills are preferred, but not required.

The CBJ is a locally owned, rapidly growing media company that offers flexible schedules, competitive pay and benefits, and weekends off. We work hard but with a sense of purpose. Teamwork is expected and given.

Interested candidates should send a cover letter, resume and two to four clips to Editor Adam Moore at adam@corridorbusiness.com.
