Corridor Business Journal in Iowa seeks top editor

The Corridor Business Journal, a growing news publication in Eastern Iowa, is seeking an experienced journalist to lead the organization’s weekly publication, daily e-mail updates, social media efforts and custom publishing projects.

The editor will manage reporters, freelance writers, photographers as well as edit stories and text and plan future issues. Other expectations include participating in company events and serving as a community leader.

Candidates must have superior editing, writing and organizational skills, and be willing and flexible to participate in all aspects of a fast growing, multi-faceted entrepreneurial media company. Knowledge of the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Corridor is preferred.

The Corridor Business Journal is published by the Corridor Media Group, Inc., a family-owned media company founded in 2004 and based in Coralville, Iowa.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
