Connecticut Post seeks a business reporter

Connecticut PostConnecticut PostHearst Connecticut Media Group seeks an energetic, ambitious and imaginative reporter to cover business and economic development for the Connecticut Post, our daily newspaper and 24/7 website in southwestern Connecticut covering Bridgeport and surrounding towns.

You will report to our group business editor, who also oversees coverage in four other dailies – Greenwich Time, The Stamford Advocate, The Norwalk Hour and The News-Times in Danbury – and you will work closely with the reporters assigned to those properties.

You must relish breaking news online, producing in-depth enterprise for print and meeting the highest standards of journalistic excellence in all you do.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
