CNNMoney, CNN’s fast-growing digital platform for business news, is hiring an editor to play a key role on its expanding tech team.
The person should have a passion for technology, but not just gadgets and apps. We’re looking for someone who is obsessed with the way that technology impacts our society, our relationships and our daily lives.
He or she should be well-versed in the major players – from Google and Facebook to Marisa Mayer and Richard Branson – and know how to break down an earnings report to find the juiciest details. But we’re also looking for someone interested in the broader impact of tech: think diversity, San Francisco homelessness, and the digital divide.
What will you be doing?
- Creates, develops and edits content for assigned sites
- Generates story ideas
- Contributes to special features and stories
- May write stories
- Edits copy to meet established tone and theme requirements
- Enhances existing material
- Interacts with internal and external peers and/or managers to exchange information related to assigned activities
What do we need from you?
- Ideal candidates will have minimum 4+ years of experience of editorial experience
- Strong research and editorial skills
- Good knowledge of financial markets and a keen interest in investing and business news
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast high pressure environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Television-Film Production, Communications, or related discipline or equiv. work experience.
