CNNMoney seeks section editor

The Section Editor will lead a team of reporters and writers to produce stories of high relevance to the CNNMoney audience. The editor will also be responsible for conceiving of packages with high sponsorship appeal, and then coordinating with the business side, and executing on the concepts.

The editor will also work close with colleagues on the video team to develop cross-platform packages. Additionally, the editor will conceive of new innovative new products – such as calculators and apps – to complement the text and video elements.

Responsibilities include and are not limited to:

  • Assigning and editing media stories to a team of 2 to 3 reporters. Stories can include daily news writes and major features.
  • Coordinating with the business side – Will work to ensure the team is developing stories and specials with sponsorship appeal.
  • Developing tools and apps.
  • Coordinating with the video team.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 plus years editing experience at a major news publication strongly preferred.
  • Must have aptitude for developing interactive calculators and apps.
