CNNMoney seeks planning editor in NYC

The planning editor will help run the TV and video component of the CNNMoney news desk and will be responsible for news gathering, planning and communicating the site’s broadcast plans to the entire network.

The editor will be the point of contact to the rest of the network’s units and platforms in the pursuit of breaking news, story confirmation, editorial and production planning. The editor will work under the supervision of the site’s coverage manager to create a unified news desk that gathers and distributes network requests, reporter and writer assignments and collaboration across CNN’s platforms.

The CNNMoney News Desk will be expanding its hours of coverage and the Planning Editor will work with the Coverage Manager on the staffing and scheduling of reporters and writers to insure robust coverage of business and financial news for all of CNN.

Breaking News / Communicating coverage, assigning reporters/producers. Futures planning for next day and beyond. Afternoon reporter requests. Assembling Futures note and 8P next day coverage note. Reporter and PTO Scheduling.
