CNNMoney.com is looking for a reporter for its personal finance section.
He/she will work closely with the section’s editor to pitch and write stories about a wide range of personal finance topics, including real estate, taxes, consumer spending and saving trends, taxes, banking/lending and debt. This Reporter will be expected to pitch enterprise story ideas and develop sourcing and a deep knowledge of key personal finance subjects.
She/he will work on a variety of stories, often at the same time, so they must be able to manage work on longer-term features while being able to drop everything to respond to breaking news.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have 2- 3 years reporting experience with a business or personal finance publication, wire service, major newspaper or online news site. They should be passionate about helping people save more, spend less and achieve their financial goals. We’re looking for people who go beyond press releases to find stories, who are good at explaining complicated topics to readers in a simple, approachable way and who are comfortable dissecting and analyzing data. Good communications skills, excellent command of English, enthusiasm. Must be a team player. At least a BA/BS degree in Journalism or English.
