CNET seeks senior editor in San Francisco

We are CNET, the world’s No. 1 tech news and reviews site, period. We publish the most comprehensive, timely, and engaging technology news, video reviews, and advice on the planet, and we take pride in independent, creative journalism that helps real people really understand and enjoy tech.

You are a tech expert and an experienced and talented on-camera host ready to embrace a rare opportunity to join our video team. In this role, you’ll be enterprising original content for CNET.com and partner sites. You will write and host product reviews, how-tos and other tech-focused videos.

You are super-smart, self-motivated, and a fast and creative writer. You are PASSIONATE about consumer electronics and technology news. You’re full of creative ideas for videos that will stand out for their originality and timeliness. You are at ease explaining the most complicated technology to anyone from geeks to the late adopters.

You live in the San Francisco Bay Area or are willing to relocate here, and you would be happy to travel periodically to wherever a story takes you.

Qualifications:

3+ years tech news reporting and video storytelling experience.  (Please share a link to your demo reel with your application.)
Ability to write and produce technology related news, reviews and how-to videos under tight daily deadlines.
Existing contacts in the tech industry.
BA (a plus if it’s broadcast journalism or related) or equivalent combination of education and experience.To apply, go here.
Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
