CNBC is looking for a segment producer for its “Fast Money” show.

Responsibilities

·         Develop and produce live and taped guest segments
·         Create unique elements using video, graphics, social media, etc.
·         Assemble research packets for anchors
·         Conduct pre-interviews and arrange necessary travel
·         Pitch story ideas in the morning meeting & generate original content ideas daily
·         Identify and book compelling guests when needed
·         Write intros and teases for segments
·         Partner with other departments (graphics, tech ops, satellite operations)
·         In the control room – write live banners, check in guests and reporters, call elements as needed
·         Produce breaking news stories – including making calls and building elements
·         Help maintain show social media accounts on Twitter and Facebook
·         Develop and maintain good relationships with news sources
·         Experience line producing a plus

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of 2 years of experience booking and producing in a live television environment with demonstrated writing, research, and telephone communication skills
• Must be able to be a team player and work very closely with the anchor of the program
• Exemplary editorial judgment and passionate interest in financial news
• Willingness to accommodate a demanding production schedule and flexibility to work evenings, weekends and some holiday when required
• Must be willing to work in Englewood Cliffs, NJ—perks include free shuttle, free gym, dry cleaning/shoe shine services, full-service cafeteria, food trucks, and more

Desired Characteristics

• Prior experience booking guests, generating ideas and producing segments in a top 20 news market, national platform, or business news environment
• Successful candidates will be self-starters with a highly developed rolodex who can work effectively under daily deadline pressure
• Excellent interpersonal skills combined with a strong sense of how to visually tell a compelling story
• MBA, Wall Street/financial/business news background is a huge plus
• Proficiency with i-News computer system
