CNBC seeks video editor in San Francisco

CNBC is looking to hire a video editor in its San Francisco bureau.

Responsibilities

* Daily editing of Packages, Vo’s, Sot’s, Teases in a deadline oriented environment for live cable business news and WEB
* Edit independently without reporter/producer presence
* Ensure accuracy of all audio/video levels while monitoring signal through a Waveform/Vector scope monitor and audio meters
* Perform basic troubleshooting on edit systems
* Communicate with other CNBC Bureaus and Headquarters for recording and sending of feeds
* Assist Bureau Technical Operations Manager with daily operations
* Operate Studio camera
* Keep up to date with the latest technologies available and researching ways on how to implement into our workflow for improving efficiency and the overall look of editing for CNBC

Qualifications/Requirements

* 5 years experience editing in a live broadcast news environment
* Strong knowledge of Avid/Interplay Editing system
* Strong knowledge of P2, XD CAM and all other file based HD formats
* Ability to read Waveform/Vector scope monitors…color correcting a must
* Experience editing packages and clips with minimal or no guidance from reporter/producer
* Proactive-thinker: engage producers/reporters in the editing process and offer creative ideas and suggestions
* Ability to successfully perform in a deadline oriented environment
* Ability to independently pace and prioritize workload while working on several projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with people in high-pressure situations
* Excellent organizational skills
* Fundamental technical skills with ability to troubleshoot and fix basic problems with edit systems
* Must be flexible and able to work all shifts including early mornings, nights, weekends and overtime
* Knowledge of TGV Edius/Stratus system a plus
* Experience operating studio cameras
