CNBC seeks assistant producer in London

CNBC is recruiting a News Desk Assistant Producer with a proven interest in business news and experience working in a breaking news environment. You would be working with a close-knit team in working to plan and execute CNBC’s editorial priorities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

– Identifying and pitching key stories and editorial themes
– Supporting live show producers in a breaking news environment
– Booking news guests and securing top interviews
– Researching topics and summarizing findings for producers & presenters
– Field-producing polished and professional outside broadcast.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

– Good knowledge of European business, economics, and financial markets
– Previous experience working in a live breaking news environment.
– Capable of handling short deadlines and work in a fast-paced and demanding live news environment.
– Excellent communication skills,
– University degree or equivalent experience.

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
