CNBC Digital is looking for a reporter to cover social media companies

What you’ll do:
Improve and expand our coverage of the technology industry in Silicon Valley.
Break news and deliver insightful original reporting on Facebook (Meta), social media, and emerging communications platforms, including the “metaverse.”
Explain and report what’s going on inside and around the companies building and running these platforms.
Understand how these companies influence and react to the political landscape in the U.S. and abroad and incorporate this understanding into your reporting.
Keep a bead on the societal impact of social media and the emerging metaverse.
Collaborate with CNBC’s digital video team.
Take opportunities to appear on CNBC TV to discuss scoops and offer expertise.

Qualifications/Requirements

What you’ll bring:

At least 5 years of experience in tech industry or business reporting.
A clear vision of the important storylines on your beat.
The capability and desire to do strong original reporting.
Demonstrated knowledge of how to build and maintain sources.
Strong writing skills.
Understanding of business and finance – how to read earnings reports, SEC filings, etc.

Additional Job Requirements
Must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID-19 vaccination status and, if partially or fully vaccinated, submitting your vaccination record no later than 7 days following commencement of employment.
Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the commencement of employment or must undergo regular COVID-19 testing if Company determines your job position requires accessing an NBCUniversal worksite.
