CNBC.com seeks executive editor

The executive editor will manage a team of writers/editors/digital journalists who are focused on delivering original and curated multiplatform content and will be responsible for the editorial direction and quality of CNBC.com

• Sets editorial strategy and policy, determining editorial ‘voice’ of content, with a particular focus on social/mobile content and original video
• Directs the daily editorial operations of site
• Obtains and allocates resources to achieve strategic and operating goals
• Develops, enhances and maintains relationships with editorial and creative talent
• Actively partner across CNBC to link platforms (TV etc) for CNBC’s competitive advantage
• Builds and enhances key internal and external contacts
• Facilitate short and long term editorial planning with internal and outside partners: aligned with marketing plan and editorial vision for the site
• Work closely with Ad Sales and Strategic Content team to drive revenue for the site by creating partnership opportunities.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Minimum 15 years experience in developing content and ideas for online platforms including short form video programming, viral campaigns, and interactive applications
• Minimum 4 years senior leadership experience leading editorial teams and demonstrable expertise in setting vision and strategy and motivating teams to achieve results
• Significant experience leading and managing a successful website, ideally in the business news, news or highly affluent environment
• Knowledge of and expertise in video content for site and mobile strategy
