CNBC.com seeks assistant producer/digital reporter in London

The Assistant Producer/Digital Reporter works as part of the CNBC.com EMEA editorial team, reporting and writing original news stories for a fast-paced, business and financial news website.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Writing fast and accurate breaking news copy

Pitching, reporting and writing news and analysis stories

Researching data for appropriate stories and content on the site

Using the site’s content management system to make a story as compelling and attractive as possible through the use of pictures, graphics and appropriate links.

Using social media and other tools to promote CNBC.com content

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Relevant university degree required

In-depth knowledge of financial markets and business and economic news

Familiarity with Reuters terminal and other data sources for research

Demonstrated experience working for a news website, daily newspaper or a wire service

Good eye for detail, ability to submit clean, accurate copy

Sharp and inquisitive mind

Work well as part of a team and be able to prioritize a wide range of tasks under tight deadlines.

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
