Civil Eats, a nonprofit news organization, seeks an audience engagement editor to join its hard-working team to reach, engage, and grow our readership with our award-winning reporting. The right person for this role cares deeply about food and agriculture policy, social justice, and environmental issues, is interested in following the news on these subjects closely and has a passion for bringing them to a wider audience. They are a sharp and engaging writer and a talented graphic designer who understands news trends and enjoys working remotely with a small, dedicated team. The audience engagement editor is a senior team member of our newsroom. This position is exempt.

Civil Eats offers a competitive and comprehensive salary and package of employee benefits. This 30-hr/week position starts at $70,000.
LOCATION:
Civil Eats operates a virtual newsroom, with the senior management team based on the West Coast. This position can be located anywhere in the U.S.
