Cincinnati Business Courier seeks managing editor

The Cincinnati Business Courier is seeking an experienced managing editor to run the day-to-day operations of its award-winning newsroom.

As the newsroom’s most hands-on manager and coach of reporters, the Managing Editor is charged with bringing ideas, inspiration, and constant guidance to the content team. Reporting directly to the Editor, the Managing Editor actively oversees and directs the deployment of resources across the many publishing platforms – online, mobile, email, print, social, etc.

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
·       Minimum of 3 to 5 years of management and/or team leadership experience required
·       Comfortable operating in rapidly changing media environment

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
