Chronicle-Tribune seeks a reporter, Marion

The Chronicle-Tribune is seeking a passionate journalist who wants to be a part of a dedicated team.

  • We need someone who’s strong at writing hard news and gripping features, gets right to the point and isn’t afraid to ask tough questions.
  • An applicant should be curious and always searching for stories that impact the community.
  • Candidates are expected to write in AP style.

You will work closely with our managing and executive editors. Hours vary based on the days of the week (guaranteed 40 hours). Deadline is at 6:30 p.m. Ability to work some weekends and nights is required. Other duties as assigned.

A license, passing driving record and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications:

  • Work experience: prior writing experience preferred
  • Education: college degree in journalism, communications, English or related field preferred.
  • Job-related requirements: ability to write two articles on a daily basis
  • Photography skills are preferred but not required.
