China Daily USA is seeking an experienced full-time Business Reporter/Writer in its New York office. The ideal candidate should have following qualifications and responsibilities:
Major responsibilities:
Follow the latest news events relating in China-US relations, especially in the corporate/ business field;
Develop story ideas and report to the editor about work plan and progress;
Generate at least one news story per day and regularly produce feature and in depth articles;
Research on assigned topics and conduct interviews;
Attend weekly meetings with well-prepared story plans;
Finish all the writings and assignments on time;
Help on other work assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or above in journalism, media, or communications;
At least 3-5 years of working experience in a media company;
Outstanding interpersonal and communications (oral and written) skills;
Good knowledge of international issues and financial markets, particularly of US and China;
Proven ability to work under deadlines;
Ability to work unusual hours, weekends and be on call as demanded by news coverage;
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
This is a full-time position. The company will offer salary and benefits commensurate with experience.
