Chicago Tribune seeks a real estate reporter

The Chicago Tribune is hiring a competitive reporter to break news and prove insightful enterprise coverage on the Chicago real estate scene.

As a senior reporter, you will own a premier beat in our newsroom and be highly motivated with a clear sense of urgency. You will excel in a fast-paced position and be able to juggle the daily demands of breaking real estate news with strong enterprise that sets our coverage apart. You will demonstrate the ability to build a strong network of sources and deliver exclusive, in-depth stories that are far-reaching.  You will write with flair and authority and be able to connect all the dots. You will know how to use all digital tools available to effectively deliver the news to a diverse and sophisticated audience. Experience using newsletters to deliver news and drive engagement is a plus.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
