Versatile breaking news journalist who can juggle assignments with executing compelling enterprise for the metro desk.
What you will do:
- Cover breaking news and general assignment work for the metro desk
- Identify longer-term enterprise stories.
- Shifts may include afternoons, evenings and potentially some weekend work.
What you will bring:
- The successful applicant has a track record of executing breaking stories on a tight deadline that demonstrate crisp writing, accuracy, commitment to fair play
- The ability to tell stories about people that go beyond the statistics.
- We also place high value on insightful reporting and a commitment to serving the public good by exposing inequities and holding the powerful to account.
- We are looking for a journalist who is collaborative, creative, collegial, high energy and dogged in pursuit of the story.
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
