Cheddar seeks a field producer in New York

November 8, 2018

Posted by Chris Roush

Cheddar seeks a creative, driven, and experienced Field Producer who is a passionate visual storyteller to put together guest notes, questions, scripts, clever lower thirds, and visual elements for a variety of different field productions, which include one-off live multicam interviews, live shows on location and packages. Mostly editorial in nature, the position does require attention to some of our branded campaigns.

The successful candidate will have experience in live news, with an expertise in writing scripts and producing packages. A sophisticated knowledge of business news, with a focus on tech, media, and consumer names, politics, and national news is necessary, along with a broad cultural awareness and an instinct for what’s trending.

The candidate must also be able to research, write concise scripts and have experience in a live environment. You need to be able to work in a high-pressure environment, and produce under tight deadlines. The successful candidate must be a self-starter and an independent worker. At the same time, he or she must be adaptable and flexible, a team player who is able to mix easily into and work effectively in our small, scrappy, and highly collaborative team.

The ideal candidate is a rare gem: an experienced visual artist who can both film beautiful and dynamic footage, as well as organize and plan shoots, liaise with guests and clients, keep the train running on time, and follow through on the edit.
