Charleston daily seeks two business reporters

The Post and Courier is looking for two reporters as it adds to its burgeoning Columbia bureau.

There are opportunities in this Pulitzer Prize-winning newsroom to do some of the best work of your career, limited only by your ambition and curiosity. The Post and Courier is a family owned newspaper, investing heavily in its newsroom to cover all of South Carolina.

The ideal candidates will be a creative and critical thinker able to look beyond the story of the day toward deeper angles, themes and broader state and national perspectives. We are filling two positions in Columbia:

  • The growth and development reporter will cover the ways in which South Carolina’s economic growth is impacting the people of the Midlands. This reporter must be at home writing about economics and local government in an accessible but smart manner.
  • The business reporter will focus more intently on the economics of the region, from retail to real estate. The right candidate will also be at home interpreting and analyzing key economic indicators.

Send your resume, five examples of your best work and a cover letter with ideas on how you would cover this beat to Managing Editor Autumn Phillips at aphillips@postandcourier.com. The Post and Courier is an equal opportunity, drug-free workplace.
