California paper seeks real estate/business reporter

The Desert Sun in Palm Springs, Calif., is searching for a real estate and business reporter who is adept with data, quick to engage with breaking news and can articulate complex issues in a compelling way.

The right candidate will work on a variety of short and long projects and engage with audiences daily across mobile and social platforms. Apply if you have a file of great clips that showcase business expertise and a flair for storytelling.

Position requires valid drivers license, proof of insurance and access to reliable transportation.

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
