Business Observer seeks two reporters in Florida

March 12, 2021

Posted by Chris Roush

The Business Observer covers entrepreneurs, CEOs and business leaders from Tampa to Naples each week. We write intelligent stories for C-suite readers that explain trends, explore strategies and show how business leaders are finding success in their industry. Our readers turn to us to learn lessons that can help them in their work and find out who’s doing what in our coverage area. To write for CEOs you need to think like one, and you need to know what they care about most. In fact, that’s our in-house motto: “Boss needs to know.”

We’re looking for someone who can find these stories and cover the business beat in their area. The ideal candidate is a magazine-style writer who loves business news and has experience in this niche. Online skills and comfort working in a digital-first newsroom are a plus. We are on the brink of evolving and changing our approach, and we are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are open-minded and ready to help.

We currently have openings for two business writers: One will cover the Tampa Bay area (Pasco, Pinellas and Hillsborough counties); the other will cover Lee and Collier counties.

About us

The Business Observer is part of the Observer Media Group, which publishes 10 weekly newspapers across the state of Florida. Started in 1997, as the Gulf Coast Business Review, the Business Observer is the second-oldest paper in the company.

Pay is competitive and commensurate with experience. Full benefits included.
