Business North Carolina seeks senior editor

Business North Carolina seeks a senior editor to help run the day-to-day operations and supervise production of this award-winning, 33-year-old monthly magazine.

We’re looking for someone who has at least five years in magazine work or with major newspapers and a minimum of three years’ supervisory experience. Must be an exceptional writer, reporter and editor, a true wordsmith whose own work shines and who can make that of others dazzle.

The magazine — which has won more than 100 national awards for editorial excellence — focuses on in-depth, behind-the-scenes coverage of the forces shaping the North Carolina economy. But most of all, we specialize in something too often lost in today’s journalism: the art of storytelling.

We strive to craft compelling narratives that deliver what we uncover in a way that, though at times provocative, is always fair, accurate and thorough. Our readers are the state’s top executives, business owners and government leaders, so command of the subject matter is a must and knowledge of North Carolina, its people and culture a definite plus.

Qualified candidates should send a cover letter with salary requirement, resume and work samples to Publisher, Business North Carolina, 5605 77 Center Drive, Suite 101, Charlotte, NC 28217 or email bkinney@businessnc.com.
