Buffalo Bulletin seeks a general assignment reporter

The Buffalo Bulletin, a nationally recognized weekly publication located in the breathtaking Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming, is seeking a General Assignment Reporter to join our team. Our publication specializes in local news and is committed to delivering high-quality, impactful stories that matter to our readers.

Responsibilities:

  • Research, report, write and produce excellent content for print, online and social media. Video a plus!
  • Develop and maintain sources within the community
  • Attend events, meetings and other activities to cover and report on news and stories relevant to the community
  • Pitch story ideas and contribute to editorial meetings
  • Edit and proofread content for accuracy and clarity
  • Collaborate with other reporters, editors and photographers to produce high-quality content

Qualifications:

  • This is an entry level position. We like to train from within.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Journalism or related field or equivalent is preferred.
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
  • Familiarity with AP style and digital publishing platforms
  • Passion for storytelling
