Stat, a new Boston Globe Media digital publication covering the frontiers of health and medicine, is looking for an aggressive, fearless reporter to cover the biotech industry in Boston and nationally.
The reporter will be based in Boston, the epicenter of the life sciences in the United States, and will be counted on to own the beat, regularly digging up tough-minded and compelling stories about companies, their products, influential players and personalities, and behind-the-scenes dramas.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in science, medical or business journalism, and experience covering the biotechnology sector or pharmaceutical industry is desirable.
We’re looking for an energetic and enterprising beat reporter with a strong track record of breaking news and generating good ideas and turning them into compelling stories. Candidates must be productive and versatile, skilled at both quick-turnaround daily news and deeply reported enterprise. Experience working with multimedia teams to come up with creative ways to package reporting is a plus.
The new publication, which launches later this year, will cover life sciences in Boston and beyond for a national audience. This is a start-up publication, so flexibility, team spirit, and a willingness to innovate are essential. Also essential: Fidelity to bedrock journalistic values and a commitment to excellence.
Please submit your resume, a cover letter, and up to 8 clips to our application posting on our careers site. If you are having any issues, please email stephanie.simon@globe.com.
