Boston Globe seeks business reporter

The Business Reporter will be responsible for covering local business, as well as national and global news with regional implications. Beat will focus on, but not be limited to, traditional media, new media, and social media.

Responsibilities:

Setting the agenda for media coverage in Boston.

Qualifications:

Skillful writing and reporting is essential for this position. We’re seeking someone who can break news and engage a wide range of readers with compelling enterprise. We are looking for a storyteller who is precise and prolific, and willing to adapt to the accelerating pace of change in a modern newsroom.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A minimum of 5 years covering business
  • Experience in daily journalism is preferred

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
