Bond Buyer seeks SEC reporter

Bond Buyer is currently looking for an energetic and aggressive reporter to cover the Securities and Exchange Commission, self-regulatory groups, as well as industry, state and local and other muni market groups regarding municipal-related securities issues.

The reporter should have several years of experience and be able to write both breaking news for online and print quickly, as well longer-term enterprise stories.   Experience covering financial markets or state and local governments is a plus. The reporter should be comfortable with technical issues, as well as numbers and statistics.

This position is based in our Washington bureau, which provides advantages of a fast-paced business environment in a comfortable setting located in Arlington, Va.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
