Bond Buyer seeks reporter in New York

The Bond Buyer is seeking a dynamic, thorough and dedicated reporter to join its markets team as the sell-side reporter.

A SourceMedia publication, The Bond Buyer is a 122-year-old brand that is considered the bible of the $3.7 trillion municipal bond industry. We currently have a reporting position available on our three-person markets team, which consists of coverage of the buy- and sell-sides of the municipal bond market, along with daily coverage of the municipal primary and secondary markets. Each markets team member has a primary beat, but is also expected to be proficient in the two remaining beats for rotation and cross-coverage. Members of the markets team work as a cohesive unit.

This primary responsibility of this team member will be to cover the sell-side beat, which is comprised of coverage of the municipal bond insurance industry and the broker-dealer side of the business. In addition to writing trend stories, profiles, people-move items, reporting on breaking news, and building an industry following through social media, markets team members have the opportunity to schedule and conduct video interviews at our in-office studio with relevant subjects, and film regular video segments.

Positions on The Bond Buyer’s markets team are among the most visible at the publication and represent a tremendous career opportunity for the right individual. The successful candidate’s predecessors have, after several years on the job, become high-level Bond Buyer editors, gone directly to reporting positions at media outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times and Bloomberg, and taken various positions within the municipal bond industry.

The ability to write clearly and accurately under tight deadlines is required. Knowledge and understanding of finance, economics, video, digital journalism and social media is a plus. Knowledge and understanding of the municipal bond market is a huge plus.

We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package. For consideration, please send your resume and links or clips along with salary requirements to: ReporterCareers@sourcemedia.com
