Responsibilities:
- Research, report, interview and present business news stories
- Anchor and host shows, report stories and segments
- Conduct live interviews with CEOs, economists, money managers and politicians
- Provide live market updates that explain the price action on Bay and Wall Streets
- Handle breaking news, including earnings reports, mergers & acquisitions and major corporate developments
- Provide business coverage of top stories for CTV News affiliate stations, including both live and pre-taped segments for television and radio
- Work with newsroom management, show producers and segment producers to shape the content and focus of a live, daily show
- Contribute written content for the BNN Bloomberg website
- Be a leader and mentor to staff in the newsroom
- Participate in the editorial process including idea generation and guest leads
- Ensuring content exceeds all editorial and industry standards
Qualifications:
- Outstanding knowledge of business, finance, and economics
- 5+ years of Markets and/or journalism experience
- A track-record for contextualising stories and highlighting why a story is important
- Great on-camera presence (5+ years experience)
- A self-starter who is eager to contribute content on multiple platforms (TV, digital, radio)
- A team player who gives and receives feedback well
- A journalist who is committed to the highest industry and ethical standards
- A journalism and/or business degree will be considered an asset, as well as financial industry experience
Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
