Bloomberg TV/Radio seeks writer/producer

Bloomberg Television/Radio is seeking a highly motivated, hard-working writer and producer to join its 24/7 news network.

You will need to demonstrate excellent news judgement, strong writing proficiency, an enthusiastic work ethic, attention to detail and robust multitasking skills across multiple broadcast platforms.

You will need to:

  • Identify stories and topics of importance to Bloomberg customers
  • Write succinct, clear and conversational news stories for broadcast
  • Edit broadcast scripts for errors, omissions and accuracy
  • Use video and graphics to enhance stories
  • Move quickly to cover breaking news
  • Other production and writing duties as assigned

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of news writing experience
  • 2+ years of television production experience
  • Strong writing skills
  • Flexibility in hours and to work holidays if necessary
  • General computer and networking knowledge
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Business news or financial services experience preferred

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
