Bloomberg seeksw White House reporter

Bloomberg News is seeking an experienced reporter to join its news team covering the White House. The ideal candidate will have a background reporting and writing on deadline, a proven ability to deliver news in an often fluid coverage environment, and an affinity for adopting new equipment and techniques to serve readers across multiple formats.

He/she will be expected to quickly grasp and follow up on breaking news stories from our reporters around the world, while pursuing scoops and enterprise on the beat.

Excellent news judgment and a commitment to accuracy are essential for this role. The ideal candidate must be flexible and able to adapt to the shifting demands of a major global news organization. The position will require occasional weekend duty and overnight travel.

Qualifications:
-Substantial reporting experience at major newspapers, wire services or digital/video outlets.
-Experience in Washington or at the state government level.
-Knowledge of the Bloomberg terminal a plus
-Team player

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
