Bloomberg seeks weekend editor in DC

Bloomberg News is seeking an experienced editor to become a key member of the expanded weekend coverage team.

This editor, who can be based in Washington or New York, will help lead breaking and enterprise coverage of U.S. general and political news on weekends, with special emphasis on serving the Bloomberg.com audience. This editor also will work closely with editors, reporters and stringers in other parts of the world, particularly Europe and the Middle East, on breaking news from international politics and conflicts.

Qualifications

– Experience as a congressional or White House reporter or editor is preferred.
– Foreign reporting and editing experience is a plus, as is a working proficiency in Arabic or Eastern European languages.
– This is a full-time, 4-day-a-week position. Schedule is Thursday through Sunday; Friday through Monday may also be possible for the right candidate.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
