The successful candidate for this position is a news breaker and loves the markets. You will join our Stocks team in London to produce reports on U.K. equities and other markets across Europe. You will also write longer features and enterprise stories.
We’ll trust you to:
- Break news and write enterprise stories analyzing market trends under deadline pressure
- Mine the Bloomberg terminal for smart, data-driven stories
- Quickly build charts that spotlight market trends in the region
- Participate in live coverage of events such as central-bank decisions and earnings reports, highlighting the stock-market impact
- Report with speed and accuracy
- Build contacts within the industry among traders and fund managers
- Be comfortable talking about markets on TV and radio
- Be a team player
You need to have:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Previous financial markets or business journalism experience
- An ability to write quickly, concisely and accurately under tight deadline pressure
- Experience of working in a real-time news environment
