Bloomberg News is seeking an energetic, ambitious editor to oversee the overnight news operations of our flagship digital publication.
The editor will be responsible for making decisions about news coverage, placement, and promotion, as well as writing and editing content for the web from time to time. The ideal candidate should have experience in digital journalism as a writer and editor; experience in business journalism is a plus.
This role is intensively collaborative and will work with other editors and reporters as well as the data, photo, and Bloomberg Television teams. A high degree of fluency with news gathering technology and social media is a must, as all editors must work natively in a digital environment, spotting stories, trends, and patterns. The job requires a commitment to the best journalistic practices, impeccable judgment under fire, and strong coordination skills.
Qualifications:
-At least three years of recent and relevant digital journalism experience
-Experience with deadline pressure
-Deep knowledge of the Internet and its best practices, including social media
-An entrepreneurial and energetic approach to the job
-A good communicator and collaborator
-Demonstrable attention to detail and organizational skills
