Bloomberg seeks ME to oversee health, science and education

Bloomberg News is seeking a Managing Editor for Health, Science and Education.

The person in this role will guide health, science and education coverage, and will lead a team of almost fifty employees globally, which includes 4 Team Leaders who report into this individual as well.

The individual, who will report to the Executive Editor for Company News, must have exceptional news judgment and editing skills and be able to handle breaking news, enterprise reporting and longer-term projects. Leadership skills are essential and experience covering health and education is an advantage.

Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
-Minimum of five years of business journalism experience
-Previous leadership experience required
-Knowledge of the economy, financial markets, and business
-Ability to work in a real-time news environment

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
