Bloomberg seeks leveraged finance reporter

Bloomberg News seeks an experienced reporter in its New York office with knowledge of the markets for high-yield bonds and leveraged loans.

Working with Bloomberg Brief, our growing newsletter division, the reporter will need to be resourceful in finding insightful stories that appeal to both the industry-focused publication as well as the company’s multiple news platforms.

This is an ideal position for someone knowledgeable and passionate about credit markets who thrives on deadline pressure. Bloomberg Brief publishes 20 newsletters that provide unique data, original content and commentary on topics ranging from Hedge Funds to Financial Regulation.

Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
-Minimum of three years of experience working at major newspapers, wire services, and/or financial newsletters
-Experience writing about credit on deadline
-Proficiency in Excel
-Contacts in credit and financial markets
-Knowledge of the Bloomberg terminal a plus

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
