Bloomberg seeks health care reporter in New York

Bloomberg News seeks a reporter to join the U.S. Health & Science Team to cover the evolving face of U.S. health care and the historic impacts of the Affordable Care Act.

The reporter will have primary responsibility for the U.S. health-insurance industry, but the portfolio will go beyond corporate coverage to include changes in the way medical care is delivered, the blurring lines between payers and providers, and the changing experience for patients.

The successful candidate will be confident taking apart an earnings statement, chasing an M&A story and profiling low-income Medicaid patients to tell the broad story of medical care in America. The beat will involve a mix of breaking news and enterprise. Ability to translate the jargon and complexity of the Affordable Care Act is essential.

Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
-Knowledge of the economy, financial markets and business
-Minimum of three years of experience in business journalism
-Ability to write quickly and concisely under pressure
