Bloomberg seeks First Word Oil editor in New York

Bloomberg News is seeking a New York editor for its fast-expanding and innovative First Word Oil channel.

Applicants should have a minimum of five years of journalism experience including coverage of crude markets in a real-time news environment. Great oil industry contacts a plus. Editors should have the ability and industry-specific knowledge to immediately discern actionable information.

The editor will work with reporters to provide fast and concise news on oil flows, supply, demand, arbitrages and their impact on prices and refinery and pipeline outages.

Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
-Knowledge of the economy, commodity markets and business
-Minimum of five years of business editing experience
-Great Wall Street contacts and/or specific beat experience a plus.

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
