You will have a demonstrated ability to break news by building a network of high-level sources, as well as write broader stories that bring key elements of China’s securities and banking industries to a global audience.
China’s financial system is at the center of world attention — from increasing bad debts to securities-market overhaul and the rise of the shadow-banking system. At the same time, its financial architecture is getting ever more closely linked to the global one, and banks and securities firms are expanding overseas.
The role will give you a ring-side seat to one of the most defining developments of the modern financial era.
You will ideally have:
- At least seven years’ experience in journalism, as well as a track record of covering banks, securities firms, regulatory issues or other financial/business news
- Fluency in Mandarin and English
- Ability to conceive and execute smart enterprise stories on complex issues
- Ability to write quickly, accurately and concisely under deadline pressure
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
