Bloomberg seeks editor for venture capital team in San Fran

Bloomberg seeks an editor to develop and grow a team of reporters covering venture capital and technology startups in San Francisco.

This team will use the range of Bloomberg platforms-including the terminal, website, magazines, and broadcast-to tell the story of how technology startups are setting new trends that will transform the business and financial world.

It will educate and entertain our audiences with stories about the hottest companies, biggest personalities, and the most surprising investments in Silicon Valley. The ideal candidate will have a record of deftly editing copy, and generating and developing compelling story ideas, while also attracting and nurturing top journalistic talent.

He or she is a clear communicator capable of collaborating with teams across Bloomberg.

Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
-Minimum of three years of editing experience in business and financial journalism
-Experience working in a real-time news environment

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
