Bloomberg seeks editor for natural gas and power newsletter

Bloomberg LP is seeking an experienced editor with knowledge of the Energy industry to join Bloomberg Brief, our growing newsletter division.

This person will bring their vision to bear to launch an innovative Natural Gas and Power newsletter backed by all the news and data resources of Bloomberg. The editor will select, edit, and lay out stories and will also mine data to tell stories through complex charts and graphics. This is an ideal position for someone knowledgeable and passionate about the energy industry who thrives on deadline pressure.

Bloomberg Brief publishes 18 newsletters that provide unique data, original content and commentary on topics ranging from Hedge Funds to Financial Regulation.

Qualifications:
-Substantial experience working at major newspapers, wire services and/or financial newsletters
– Experience writing, editing about the natural gas, power & energy industry on deadline
– Proficiency in Excel
– Contacts in the energy industry and in financial markets
– Demonstrated leadership ability
– Knowledge of the Bloomberg terminal a plus

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
